Pinterest

Hi, I'm Meagan and I'm addicted to PINTEREST!

It's true...  Most evenings after I put my darling daughter to bed and my husband is watching baseball, I sit and pin.

I,  like many Pinners, starting using Pinterest to pin ideas for interior decorating and tasty new recipes.  This drives my husband crazy, as he now thinks I have unrealistic expectations for our home.  (Okay. Maybe SOME of my pins are a little unrealistic :)

It wasn't until after I developed my PLN and started following some great educators, that I saw the benefits of using Pinterest in the classroom.

My Pinterest boards are now 70% educational pins.  There's so many great ideas out there!

When teachers visit my classroom, they often ask, "Where did you get that idea?" or "That's neat.  Did you make that?"  My response is usually... "Pinterest!"

I'm also a proud pinner to our NPS Panther Pinners boards.  Check it out sometime!

  1. I love that you have admitted you started on Pinterest for personal reasons and now your boards are mostly for education. I think it is neat that we can find an educational use for Pinterest.

I admit, I wasn't too sold on Pinterest at first. But when I figured out it could be all about education, I was sold!

Thanks for being a part of our Panther Pinners!

  2. Thank you! I'm excited to try pinstamatic. A great way to store ANYTHING. I love Pinterest's way of visually organizing ideas.

  3. I had the same experience Megan as you! I was introduced to pinning for recipes and that became my focus until I started seeing educational pins. I still though only had 1 board with all my ed stuff.....not smart! Now I have taken the time to start moving things to the right category! Great Blog

  5. I, too, love Pinterest, Meagan! There are so many things I find for lesson planning and my classroom. Last week I looked up resources for Julius Caesar and found all sorts of good ideas. I think I am like you and started Pinterest because all my friends said there were awesome recipes and DIY projects, but now I mainly go to look for classroom ideas!

  6. It is addicting, isn't it!? I used to love telling people when they asked that my ideas came from Pinterest, but now they just assume... 'Let me guess.. Pinterest?' and I just smile and nod. Love. This. Resource.

  7. Pinterest and teachers go together like apple pie and ice cream. I always complained that it was hard to find educational items here in Norfolk and now... we can click on Pinterest mand find hundreds of ideas and items. Reading through the blogs that others have written has given me ideas for using pinterest in the classroom. Want to try some of the ideas. Simply love Pinterest! Thanks Meagan.
