Glogster

I can't believe I'm just now hearing about Glogster!

Glogster is a fantastic site that allows you to create interactive posters.  A "Glog" short for "graphics blog" is an excellent way for your students to reach the creation stage of Bloom's Taxonomy.

Be sure to check out the Glogpedia Library for thousands of example Glogs. I spent hours in Glogpedia just getting ideas before I created my first one.

It's nothing fancy... but here's my first attempt at a Glog!

I used Glogster to create directions for my classroom assignment.  I'm pretty excited to see what my students come up with for their Nebraska Glogs!  Check back later in the year to see my students' creations!

  1. Love this idea! What a great way to use Glogster and incorporate NE history at the same time. Your kids will love Glogster.

I would suggest that if you aren't going to upgrade your account to include a class for students, you have your students use their district Google accounts to log into Glogster. That way they will not have to remember a new username and password. Let me know if you want help getting your students to use their Google accounts!

    1. Yes, I agree. Using Google would make it easier so the students wouldn't have to remember another password. Do other 4th grade teachers have their students' emails up and running? Makes me a little nervous, but excited to try at the same time. :)

    2. As far as I know, the youngest grade using Google accounts is 5th grade. With that being said, EVERY student in the district has a Google Account. We can have them up and running with their Google accounts in no time. I will be glad to help you!

Right now, students are only able to email within domain, so within npsne.org. They cannot email or receive emails from outside the domain. We can turn the email off all together and just give them access to the other Google Apps. Might be something we want to discuss with other 4th grade teachers. It would be easy to make that change for all 4th graders.

  3. Wow Meagan! I hope we can share Glogs I love your Nebraska History idea! I can see myself having a Glogster up on the smartboard while we read the social studies chapters and stop to discuss.
